Generation Patient peer-support groups are community-led spaces for young adults (ages 18+) with chronic and rare medical conditions to share their experiences and connect with others navigating similar issues. More detailed group descriptions are beneath the event calendar. To respect the privacy of our group members, these meetings are only open to young adult patients — we do not allow researchers, providers, or caregivers to observe these groups. If you would like to learn more about our peer-support groups, or have any access needs you’d like to discuss before joining, please reach out to rosa@generationpatient.org. Thank you to Connecting to Cure Crohn’s and Colitis for sponsoring a portion of our 2024 peer-support meetings!

Please note: Our groups are facilitated by members of our community and are not medical support groups or group therapy. We cannot provide medical advice, crisis counseling, or mental health treatment. Before joining our peer-support meetings, please review our meeting guidelines to help us make this space as accessible as possible for all group members!

Meeting descriptions are beneath the event calendar. Events in this calendar are displayed in Eastern Time.

General Peer-Support Group:

1st and 3rd Thursdays, 5pm PT/8pm ET

Our General groups are open to all young adult patients (anyone with a chronic medical condition, regardless of if you have an ‘official’ diagnosis!). We have discussions on a range of topics relevant to navigating life as a young adult with chronic illnesses (such as coping with unpredictability, dealing with invalidation, navigating test result anxiety, etc.). We also host activities like poetry workshops, casual chats, game nights, art activities, and more! To join our General group mailing list, click the button below.

Higher Education/Student Support Group:
